The character “知(zhī)” means to know and “己(jǐ)” means self.
Example:
一个人会有很多朋友,但能够成为知己的却很少.
Yī ɡè rén huì yǒu hěnduō pénɡyou, dàn nénɡɡòu chénɡwéi zhījǐ de què hěn shǎo.
A person will have many friends, but just a few can become very close friends.

放心 (fàngxīn) Feel relieved

The character “放(fàng)” means put down and “心(xīn)” means heart.

Example:

她很细心的,这事交给她来办,您就放心吧。

Tā hěn xìxīn de, zhè shì jiāogěi tā lái bàn, nín jiù fàngxīn ba.

Let her handle the matter, for she is very careful. Please don’ t worry.

The character “赠(zèng)” means to present and “送(sòng)” means to send

or to give.

Example:

教授向学院赠送了一幅名画。

Jiàoshòu xiàng xuéyuàn zèngsòng le yìfú mínghuà.

The professor gave a famous painting to the university as a gift.

The character “期(qī)” means semester and “末(mò)” means end.

Example:

期末就要到了,我得开始准备HSK考试了。

Qīmò jiùyào dào le, wǒ děi kāishǐ zhǔnbèi HSK kǎoshì le.

The end of the semester is coming up soon, so I will be busy with my HSK preparation.

The character “不 (bú)” means not and “错 (cuò)” means bad.

Example:

Nǐ zhè cì wénzhāng xiě de búcuò, jiāyóu!

The character “可 (kě)” means can; “爱 (ài)” means love.

Example:

Zhè zhī xiǎo tùzi zhēn kěài!
这 只 小 兔子 真 可爱!
This little rabbit is so cute!

回家 (huíjiā) To Go Home (Beginner)

The character “回 (huí)” means to return and “家 (jiā)” means home.

Example:

Zài wài gōngzuò de érnǚ yào cháng huíjiā kànkan fùmǔ.
在 外 工作 的 儿女 要 常 回家 看看 父母。
The sons and daughters who are working out of town should often come back home to see their parents.

Example:

A: Lǐ zǒng, hěn gāoxìng néng hé guì gōngsī hézuò.
李 总, 很 高兴 能 和 贵 公司 合作。
Manager Li, it’s a great pleasure to cooperate with your company.

B:Wǒmen yě hěn gāoxìng. Xīwàng xiàcì háiyǒu zhèyàng de jīhuì.
我们 也 很 高兴。 希望 下次 还有 这样 的 机会。
